Features
Stiff, upright, spiky foliage forms a prickly upright mound that is a little non-descript until the bloom starts. Then this plant becomes the focal point of the garden as flower spikes push above the foliage bearing loads of colorful orange to bright red, tubular flowers aloft from early summer to fall. More compact than older Red Hot Pokers, this selection is perfect for small spaces and containers. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
Scientific: Kniphofia 'Poco Sunset'
Grow Tips: Grows best in a sunny location. Fertilize yearly with an organic fertilizer. Prefers well-drained soils. Prune off spent flower stalks to encourage more bloom. Cut back old foliage just above ground level in late winter
