Description
Red Leaf lettuce is a small to medium variety with an elongated shape and a narrow base that opens into a loose, ruffled top. Its tender, smooth leaves grow from a central stalk, with deep burgundy-red edges fading to pale green and white near the crisp stalk. It has a crisp texture, a mild earthy aroma, and a sweet to slightly bitter flavor with subtle nutty notes that become stronger as the leaves mature.
