Features: In Europe there has been an ongoing search for Hydrangeas that keep a nice, dense, tight form on their own. 'Cityline®' is the best Europe has to offer and it is poised to be a huge American hit, too! This plant is an incredibly compact grower that you'll adore for any small space and, even though the plant itself is smaller in scale, its flower power is decidedly big time. Buds develop in early summer and open to large, showy, bright fuchsia flowers by mid-summer that nearly cover the plant. 'Cityline®' is ready to put its big show in a small package in any sun or partial sun area, either grouped or showing off as a single specimen.

Scientific: Hydrangea mac. Cityline® Venice
Series: Cityline®
Breeders: Proven Winners
Grow Tips: Best in well-drained soil that has been amended with peat moss, leaf mold or compost. Flourishes by the ocean. Pruning is usually not needed, but may be pruned immediately after flowering. Prefers moist soils. May need winter protection in northern areas. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees and shrubs. Follow the label for the recommended rate of application. Flower color is affected by pH. For blue flowers, the soil must be more acidic and for pink flowers the soil must be more alkaline. Add aluminum sulfate to the soil to encourage blue flower color.
